Car Bulb Replacement
On many modern cars a headlight bulb means removing the battery, wheel arch liner or even the bumper. We fit it properly and aim the beam afterwards.
Why book with us
Car Bulb Replacement with clear advice.
Changing a bulb used to be a five-minute job. On plenty of cars now the headlight bulbs sit behind the battery or the wheel arch liner, and some need the front bumper off. Clips break easily if you have not done it before, so it is often quicker and cheaper to let us do it.
If the same bulb keeps blowing, or a light still does not work with a new bulb, the problem is usually a corroded holder, a poor earth or a wiring fault. We test the circuit and fix the cause, not just the bulb.

Beam aimed correctly

Common questions
- Will a blown bulb fail my MOT?
- Yes. Every required light must work, including the number plate lights and the third brake light. It is one of the most common MOT failures, and one of the easiest to avoid by getting it sorted before the test.
- Can you replace LED or xenon headlight bulbs?
- We replace xenon (HID) bulbs and can test their igniter units. Many LED headlights are sealed units with no separate bulb, so a failed LED usually means a new headlamp unit. We will check yours and explain the options before doing anything.
- Should I replace headlight bulbs in pairs?
- We recommend it. Bulbs dim with age, so a new one next to an old one gives uneven light, and the other side is usually not far behind. Call 01384 936310 and we will tell you what fits your car.
