Amblecote is the strip of land between Brierley Hill and Stourbridge town centre, and it is under two miles from our workshop. Most Amblecote customers come up Brettell Lane into Brierley Hill and across to Mount Pleasant; outside rush hour it is around eight to ten minutes.
This is the heart of the old Stourbridge glass industry. Glassworks once lined the canal and the roads around Audnam and Brettell Lane, and the Stourbridge Canal still runs through. Today Amblecote is a mix of Victorian terraces, newer estates and busy main roads, with the War Memorial Athletic Ground — home to Stourbridge FC and the cricket club — right on the High Street.
The main road through Amblecote into Stourbridge carries a lot of traffic, and the Stourbridge ring road at the bottom is known for slow, stop-start queues. Cars that do most of their miles that way tend to need clutches, brakes and diesel particulate filters sooner than you might expect, and we keep an eye on all three at every visit.
On match days and cricket weekends the roads around the ground get busy, and a car parked tight on a side street picks up its share of scuffed wheels and knocked mirrors. While your car is with us for a service we are happy to check alloy damage and tracking, and tell you honestly whether it is worth sorting.

- We check wheels and tyres at every service and MOT. If a kerb has bent a rim or knocked out your tracking, we will tell you, and we can adjust the tracking for you. We will let you know if the wheel itself needs a specialist.
