Engine Warning Light On? What To Do in Brierley Hill

Solid engine light vs flashing
A solid engine warning light (often called the Check Engine or MIL light) means your vehicle has detected a fault, but it is not an emergency. You can usually drive normally — just book in for diagnostics as soon as you can.
A flashing engine light is more serious. It means the fault is active and could damage your engine or catalytic converter if you keep driving. Pull over safely and call for recovery or a friendly mechanic.
What causes the engine light to come on
Common triggers include a loose fuel cap, a faulty oxygen sensor, damaged emissions equipment (EGR or DPF), a glow plug fault on diesel cars, or low battery voltage. Some cars will also illuminate the light if your last service was incomplete.
The only way to know for certain is a diagnostic scan. We read the fault code stored in your engine computer and test the relevant systems to find the root cause.
Diagnostics: find the real problem
We use professional diagnostic equipment to read the code and live engine data. This tells us whether the fault is something simple (a sensor) or something serious (a component on the verge of failure). Many drivers are surprised how straightforward the fix turns out to be.
Call us on 01384 936310 and we will diagnose the fault at a fixed cost. Once we know what is wrong, you can approve the repair before we order parts.
